Club & 4H Lambs
 

Crow Haven has supplied several families with their 4-H project lambs. Some of these have gone on to win champion lamb at their fairs.

All our lambs are sold by the head. Prices vary – so please ask. Some are purebred; most are crossbred market.

4/H Rules
 

General Rules for Junior Sheep:

  1. Entries must be received by Extension office no later than June 1.
  2. Project animals must be in the member's possession by May 15.
  3. All other market lambs must weight 90 lbs. or more to sell.
 

Additional Rules for Market Lambs:

  1. Market lambs may not be added after the May clinic date.
  2. Market lambs must be weighed, ear tagged and nose printed at the May sheep clinic to show as market lamb.

Lamb Carcass Show Rules:

  1. Carcass lambs are to be checked in at the May 19 clinic and will be nose printed and ear tagged at that time.
  2. Carcass entries must be in in possession by May 15, 2001. Only one carcass class lamb per entrant.
  3. Minimum live weights for carcass entries are 70 pounds for Southdowns and Cheviots and 90 pounds for all other breeds.
  4. Lambs must be castrated and not have any sign of recent castration.
